LED downlights and panel lights give wide, even light across a room, unlike spotlights that focus on one area. We stock recessed and surface MASCON downlights from 12W to 24W, and slim panels, with cut-outs from 68mm to 125mm, at our Periyamedu showroom.

Questions people ask

Match the cut-out in your ceiling: 80mm for 12W, 100mm for 18W, 125mm for 24W on the Icemoon range.

Panels suit offices and big open areas. Downlights suit homes, where you want softer, spaced-out light.

3000K for warm living spaces, 4000K for kitchens and study areas, 6000K for utility spaces.

Yes, choose a surface downlight. It fixes straight onto the slab.

12W downlights, two to four of them, suit most bedrooms.

They work in kitchens and utility rooms. For living spaces, downlights or profiles look softer.

A common starting point is about half the ceiling height between fittings, adjusted to the room and the beam.

Yes. Measure the existing cut-out and choose an LED model that fits it.

Yes. Icemoon comes in white, black and antique brown, and Glanmor in white or black.

It depends on the model, not the shape. Compare the lumens. The Glanmor 18W gives 2,430 lumens, for example.

Good to know before you buy

  • Measure the cut-out before ordering

If you're replacing existing lights, measure the hole in the ceiling. Icemoon fits 80mm, 100mm and 125mm openings, and Glanmor has a flexible range like 68 to 80mm.

  • Lumens, not watts

Watts tell you power use. Lumens tell you brightness. The Glanmor 12W gives 1,620 lumens against 1,200 from the Icemoon 12W, so compare lumens when you shop.

  • Even spacing matters

Downlights placed in a neat grid, with the same gap from the walls, make a room look calm. Random placement looks busy even when the light is right.

  • One colour per room

Mixing 3000K and 6000K in one room looks patchy. Pick one colour for each space and stick to it.

Common mistakes to avoid

A ceiling full of downlights looks busy and wastes power. A few higher-lumen fittings, evenly spaced, often light a room better.

Two 12W downlights can differ by hundreds of lumens. Compare lumens and CRI, not just watts.

A downlight straight above where people lie or sit shines into their eyes. Keep them to the edges.

If the living room is 3000K, don't put 6000K downlights in the corridor next to it. The jump in colour is obvious at night.

Panels suit offices with grid ceilings. In homes, slim downlights or profiles usually look cleaner.
