Questions people ask
The light's base should sit inside the pillar top with a little margin. Bring your pillar size and we'll match it.
A pair of pillar lights in warm 3000K, plus a wall light near the name board.
Ours are IP65, which handles rain from any direction.
Yes, gate, pole and bollard lights can be made to your design.
12W, about 950 to 1,000 lumens, lights a typical gate and driveway entrance well.
Warm 3000K. It looks richer on stone and paint, and is easier on the eyes at night.
The 300mm versions of Clarus, Morino and Mossimo suit most residential pillars.
Yes. A dusk-to-dawn sensor or timer on the circuit switches them on and off automatically.
LED models use less power and need less maintenance. Lanterns with an E27 holder let you change the bulb.
Use outdoor-rated cable in conduit, run through the pillar. Joints should use IP68 waterproof connectors.

Good to know before you buy
Measure the pillar top
Measure the top of the pillar before choosing. A light that's too small looks lost, and one that's too big overhangs. Clarus has a 140mm base, Morino 125mm and Mossimo 130mm.
Lay the cable before the pillar is finished
The cable should come up through the pillar, not along the outside. Ask your mason to leave a conduit through the centre while the pillar is being built.
Match the gate lights to the house
Modern houses with clean lines suit Clarus or Morino. Traditional elevations suit lanterns like Landor or Weber. Pick the gate light alongside the wall lights so the front looks planned.
Add a timer
A timer or light sensor switches the gate lights on at dusk and off at dawn, so nobody has to remember.
Common mistakes to avoid
A small light on a large pillar looks like an afterthought. The base should cover most of the pillar top.
Cool light makes stone and paint look flat and grey at night. Warm 3000K looks welcoming.
Cables run along the outside of a pillar look untidy and wear out in the sun. Lay a conduit through the pillar while it's being built.
The gate light should also light the house name or number, so guests and delivery riders can find you at night.
Two pillars need two identical lights, at the same height and colour.
